- unexplained torn, soiled or bloody underwear
- disruption of normal eating patterns
- health problems (vomiting, headaches, rashes, unusual vaginal discharge,
unusual urinary tract infection)
- physical complaints (stomach ache, pain in genital area, genital or
anal irritation)
- sexually transmitted disease
- soreness or injury to the genital areas, anus or mouth
Behavioral or emotional
- unexplained irritability
- unable to get along with others
- sleep disorder
- depressed, despondent, withdrawn, inactive, unusually quiet
- destructive behavior toward things or people
- fearful of certain people or places
- pleas not to be left alone
- sexual awareness beyond what is age appropriate
- inappropriate sexual behavior or play with other children
- regressive behavior such as bedwetting and thumbsucking
- aggressive behavior toward others
- fearful of bathing, undressing or playing somewhere or with someone
